What am I learning?
Apart from your Year 9 History criteria, we will be looking for evidence of you using, refining and improving your general research and learning skills while using this pathfinder. These are called General Capabilities in the Australian Curriculum.

Literacy Capability
Students will interpret and use language to understand information and develop knowledge and skills using a range of texts and contexts.
What this means
ü You will use strategies to access, understand and organise a range of sources of information like books and websites. To be successful you will have to read lots, in print and online, keep notes and keep track of what you have read by keeping a reference list as you go.
ü You will interpret information that is spoken, written, visual or a combination of all these


ICT Capability
Students learn to use ICT effectively and appropriately to access information and ideas.
What this means
ü You will use the internet to access different information sources for your project and make sure to acknowledge where your ideas, images (and anything else you find useful) came from
ü You will learn to search effectively by using keywords and advanced search techniques and use a range of different places to find information like search engines, archives and databases
ü You will evaluate information you find and decide if it has integrity and value
ü You will make sure to keep your data safe and organised
